Like if You buy a house, repair it - prepare it neatly, and sell it again, so others would move it. Or if You set a house to public You´d rent the beds, or receive a rent for the house every day. Or NPC would occasionally buy property as well, to restore broken buildings. But i don´t even expect something like it for Kenshi 2.

You can't find one free around the Hub, and if majority of the buildings are destroyed there is no shop where to buy either. Your best option would be to go to Squin (a bit south from Hub) BUT if you are already bleeding and moneyles, that is no option. There are two bars and the ruined buildings are cheap, so you can quite easily set up a place to rest if moving through. Squin is better for actually living.
